My Daughter and I at that very same beach where I found my love of the ocean.

Hello, I’m Chris, though many of my friends and family have called me “SeaLuke” for nearly three decades.

Ever since my parents began taking me on beach vacations to North Carolina as a little kid, the ocean has always held a special place in my heart. So, when I pursued a degree in EcoTourism and Adventure Travel, I jumped at the opportunity to study abroad in the Bahamas. This incredible experience opened the door for me to live and work as a diver on Andros Island for four whole years, and that lead to an additional eight more years in the Cayman Islands.

Now, I live in Cleveland, Ohio, with my wonderful family. I relocated here to join a dive center where I began organizing and leading group dive travel. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of traveling with divers to some of the world’s most stunning underwater destinations, including Fiji, the Philippines, the Galápagos, and Socorro.

With over 20 years of experience as a dive guide and scuba instructor, and more than 6,000 dives across 25+ countries, I combine my education with a passion for training divers who not only embrace the adventure of diving but also help keep our marine environments safe and thriving.

Beyond Diving

When I’m not planning or leading dive trips, I’m spending time with my family tending to my vast collection of succulents and houseplants, or working on my underwater photography. Capturing the beauty of marine life and sharing it with my groups is one of my greatest joys.

Tackling the Unexpected

When it comes to tackling the unexpected, I’m like a travel magician—turning chaos into unforgettable experiences with a wave of creativity (and a lot of coffee).

Delayed flights? No problem.

Rough weather? Bring it on.

Once, during the early chaos of COVID-19, my group got stranded in the Maldives. Did we panic? Nope. I teamed up with my support team back home as well as with the U.S. Embassy to secure flights back to the US and also made sure we fully enjoyed our bonus time aboard a liveaboard dive boat by negotiating and coordinating additional dive time.

These wild experiences have sharpened my skills for adapting on the fly and ensuring my clients have an amazing time, no matter what curveballs come our way.
